OUR ANNUAL FUND DRIVE

This year’s first-ever Annual Big Turkey of a Fund Drive was a moderate success. We hope to offer another drive next Turkey-Day, stuffed with more Fake Rockstar behind the scenes stories and info! We appreciate all the generosity during this years event and if you were unable to donate this year, you can still support your favorite comics and comedy all year long, through the link below. Thanks to all our faithful readers!

Here’s the original pitch for support from this year’s drive:

“As most of you know, the bulk of the work coming out of the Fake Rockstar, LLC office is done simply for the love of comics, with little or no monetary compensation. With newspapers in peril and the Internet still being proven as a viable career resource, many of us have turned to other ways to make ends meet, including merchandise, attending comic-cons and at times, soliciting donations. The idea of an annual fund drive is something new for me and honestly, something I am still on the fence about. That said, I’d like to give it a try and as mentioned above, if it works out, we’ll make it a yearly event.

Let me be clear that there is no pressure or ultimatum to contribute. I will not end all my work because no one donates. I will not feel ill-will or cry foul if you decide to pass on contributing. I chose the path of free content on the Internet and I’m well aware of what that entails. However, if you like my work and feel like it may be worth a few dollars a year to read/enjoy/chuckle over, your generosity is overwhelmingly appreciated. The money that comes out of this drive will go towards art supplies, web hosting, computer equipment and the occasional cable bill. I do not have a weekly salary. The only regular paycheck I receive is a monthly royalty check from producing the Elderberries. Supplemental income is essential to filling the rest of the financial holes, whether it be extra freelance work, bartending shifts, or your generous donation.

The more money Fake Rockstar, LLC makes, the less time I can spend on finding additional work and concentrate on getting new, quality content to you, the reader.

That’s my pitch. I appreciate all the support from all of you, up until now. Weather it be a simple email or a purchase in the store, it all makes doing what I do worth while and gets me out of bed everyday.

Thanks to you all for continuing to read my crap!

Cheers, Cheap Beers and Turduckens,

Corey “FRS” Pandolph”
