Two jokes I did done do.
Friday, September 26th, 2008Hardly. Hardly does my own humor satisfy me, and I hardly ever think I’m funny. On the off chance I do, I’m actually less funny than usual.
But every once and a while, I write seomthing that makes me happy to be in the comedy biz. This time, it was through a couple TOBY comics (cleverly inserted into this post – see if you can spot them!). See, when I do TOBY, it’s done like everything else I do - Last minute and by the seat of my pants. Unlike Barkeater Lake and The Edlerberries, however, I don’t plan TOBY’s dialogue ahead of time. With BL and Elders (Industry abbreviations), scripts are written in advance, with the Elders vetted through the syndicate editors (Yes, I’m that important… And that intermediate). TOBY, on the other hand get’s drawn with a loose idea and then I add scripting at the last minute. I don’t know if it’s the last minute panic, or the fact that there is absolutely no planning, but this way of writing seems to be working. I’m coming up with jokes that I’d never think of sitting in front of a blank Word Document.
And now everyone knows the secret to TOBY… Now… I have to kill ALL of you. (Srcooged Reference).
Read TOBY, Robot Satan and Barkeater Lake AND The Elderberries… You will. Now.
Yours in this big circle of Ridicularity™,
